Rockford's own piano prodigy Emily Bear makes her orchestra debut on Saturday, March 28, 2009. Spirited music abounds from youthful composers and a budding young performer in a wonderful concert.

 May 7, 2008 - Emily performed at 2008 MIC Gala
Come see where it all began... The Music Institute of Chicago (MIC) is proud to present the 2008 Gala - Live from WMIC! It was only one year ago that Miss Emily Bear made her musical debut at the 2007 MIC Gala - A Musical Legacy, honoring her teacher Emilio del Rosario and his teacher Leon Fleisher. This year come celebrate with the MIC family as we honor WFMT's Steve Robinson and Bill McGlaughlin as Dushkin honorees of the 2008 MIC Gala and don't miss the opportunity to hear Emily Bear's featured performance on the main stage. April, 2008 - Emily performs "The Love In Us" with the Orlando Symphony Orchestra.
 Emily Bear was honored to perform at the McDonald's 2008 World Convention with members of the Orlando Symphony Orchestra. A special orchestral arrangement of "The Love In Us" was created for this event.
March 24, 2008 - Emily performs at White House!
 Emily Bear was honored to perform a 30 minute concert Monday at the White House. She played a mixture of jazz and original compositions for about 300 guests at a private breakfast hosted by President and Mrs. Bush before the annual traditional Easter Egg Roll. January 18, 2008 - "Note By Note: The Making of Steinway L1037"
Emily performed a 30 minute concert on January 18, 2008 at the Gene Siskel Film Center - Chicago, IL at the screening of the new documentary film "Note By Note: The Making of Steinway L1037". This award winning film, directed by Ben Niles documents the creation of Steinway Piano L1037 from forest floor to the concert hall.  Emily opened the Chicago McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade - November 22, 2007, with a performance of her original composition "Waterlights" while 6 figure skaters skate to her music at the Millenium Park Ice Rink. The parade aired nationally on Superstation WGN, Thanksgiving morning from 9AM to 11AM Central Time. The estimated number of viewers is 1.5 million people. Click here for Parade Information.
